The sweet face of Angela Bassett is known for playing the role of Tina Turner in the iconic biopic What’s Love Got to Do With It. She has worked on various projects in her illustrious career for more than 30 years. After playing in a dance group as a child, she discovered her love of acting on a field trip to Washington, DC in the 11th grade. Before she started acting, she worked for a short time as a receptionist in a beauty salon and as a photography researcher in the United States News & World Report Magazine. After that, she demonstrated her acting ability as a stage actress and appeared in many movies and TV shows.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and was able to win a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy of Musical.
